'American Idol' Finalist Casey Back in the Hospital

"American Idol" finalist Casey Abrams missed the top 13 results show today -- after he was rushed to the hospital for the SECOND time in three weeks ... for severe stomach pains.

Ryan Seacrest announced Casey's absence at the top of tonight's live 'AI' episode -- telling the audience, "You'll notice that Casey is missing from the group. He is unfortunately sick and in the hospital right now. So everybody wave to him."

Seacrest then addresses Casey in the hospital, "Feel better ... Get back here soon" -- so, it doesn't sound like Casey's getting the boot tonight.

UPDATE: Seacrest just announced ... Casey is still in the running.

'Idol' Finalists Move In to Bev Hills MEGA-MANSION

The top 13 finalists on "American Idol" have just moved in to a MASSIVE Beverly Hills mansion together ... a mansion that costs roughly $100,000 per month to rent.

The estate -- worth an estimated $12 million -- boasts 9 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a hot tub, pool, koi pond, game room with a pool table and one of the SICKEST VIEWS EVER. We're told on a clear day, you can see the ocean from the house.

The wannabes moved in on Friday ... and they'll stay there until they're voted off the show.

'American Idol' Favorite -- Why I Quit the Show ...

He was an early favorite to BECOME this year's "American Idol" ... but 22-year-old Scott Dangerfield tells TMZ he backed out of the competition because he had an obligation to his students.

Dangerfield blew the judges away during the first round of the show in Milwaukee ... only to mysteriously disappear from the show just before Hollywood week.

But TMZ spoke to Dangerfield ... who told us he's a dedicated student-teacher at a high school in Wisconsin ... and when producers told him the dates he would need to be in Hollywood ... they clashed with certain obligations he had at the school.

Dangerfield tells us, "The kids are depending on me."

Dangerfield tells us "Idol" producers tried to talk him out of his decision to quit the show ... but Scott says he had made up his mind.

But you may not have seen the last of Dangerfield ... he tells us producers are encouraging him to try out again next year ... and he's strongly considering it.

'Idol' Hospitalized Contestant Stays On Show

Casey Abrams ... the "American Idol" finalist who was hospitalized Wednesday ... will stay on the show ... TMZ has learned.

As we first reported, Casey was hospitalized Wednesday after complaining of severe stomach pains. He received a blood transfusion at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center this morning, and was released about an hour ago.

Casey has now done two rehearsals for the taping tonight -- featuring the top 12 male finalists.

A source connected with the show tells TMZ Casey will not have to return to the hospital.

'American Idol' Finalist Hospitalized

Casey Abrams -- one of the top 24 finalists on "American Idol" -- was rushed to a hospital moments ago after complaining of severe stomach pains ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to the show tell us ... 19-year-old Abrams was rehearsing at CBS Television City when he began to feel sick.

We're told Abrams was taken to a nearby hospital -- where he's expected to stay overnight ... possibly longer.

And it gets worse -- now that Abrams has made the top 24, he's scheduled to tape a performance on Friday ... along with the rest of the top 12 men. But if Abrams is not well enough to take the stage on Friday, we're told he will be eliminated from the competition.

Abrams is currently being examined by doctors.

"American Idol" Finalists Judge Lawyers

There was a secret competition behind-the-scenes at "American idol"' last month -- but this time the wannabes were three prestigious law firms fighting for a job ... and it was up to the singers to decide their fate.

TMZ has learned ... "Idol" execs gave the top 40 finalists the opportunity to select a law firm that would represent the singers ... to review and negotiate the A.I. contract the singers must now sign.

We're told three firms gave their best pitches to the group -- and after the presentations, the singers had to vote by a show of hands on which firm would get the job ... majority rules.

In the end, the gang picked Craig Marshall and Gary L. Gilbert (see above) from the mega-firm of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips -- a firm which boasts huge clients like Coca-Cola, Sony and The Eagles.

Hopefully, the losing firms were treated to a musical montage on their way out.

Tourette's Guy on 'Idol': I Wrote Songs About 'Whores'

James Durbin -- the Tourette's-suffering guy on "American Idol" last week -- wasn't joking when he said he turned his life around ... because just last year, he claimed to love singing about "sex" and "whores."

0-e3pt083i

It was all part of an interview he gave with his band "The Hollywood Scars" -- they were competing in a local battle of the bands in Santa Cruz last April ... and during the interview, Durbin says his favorite things to write songs about are "having sex with women ... whores ... [and] having a good time."

It's pretty ironic considering how Durbin was portrayed on his "Idol" episode -- as a kind, genuine 21-year-old father of a new baby ... who suffers from Tourette's ... and can barely make ends meet.

His 2010 album, "The Other Side of Down," sold only 63,000 copies -- way down from his 2008 debut album, which sold over a million copies and was certified platinum.

Archuleta lost out to David Cook in the finale of season 7 of "American Idol."

Inspirational 'Idol' Raises $27K For Disabled Fiancee

Ever since "American Idol" hopeful Chris Medina revealed his financial struggles after a car accident left his fiancee partially paralyzed ... the couple has received thousands of dollars in donations ... TMZ has learned.

We're told the money began pouring in from caring "Idol" fans after Chris explained how the couple was barely managing to cover the exorbitant medical bills. So far, we're told the donations have hit the $27,000 mark.

But the generosity isn't all in cash -- a local air conditioning and heating company donated a $4,000 furnace to Medina after hearing his heater was on the fritz. The company -- King Heating and A/C -- even installed it free of charge.

Chris is pretty stoked -- in fact, he plans to perform at the store as payback whenever his schedule opens up post-"Idol."
