Aerosmith Guitarist -- Our Show Might Suck
Aerosmith fans hoping for a good show in Hawaii, dream on -- because the concert there next month might sound like "s**t"... if you believe Joe Perry.
As TMZ first reported, the band is forced to perform a "make-good show" in the Aloha State after losing a class action lawsuit -- which was filed after they canceled a show there in 2007.
The show is supposed to be "up to par" with their other concerts -- but according to the band's Sweeney Todd look-alike guitarist yesterday in D.C., there's one reason they might "play like s**t."
UPDATE: Brandee Faria, lead council for the class action lawsuit against Aerosmith, tells TMZ, "In response to the clip, I have no doubt that that Aerosmith is going to perform a spectacular show for their Hawaii fans. As an aside, if Mr. Perry wants to play poorly in a separate concert for me, he is welcome to do so and I'm sure I'll enjoy it nonetheless. I am the managing member of my firm, not an employee, so I'm not paid by the hour and consequently, never 'on the clock.'"

Lawsuit: Aerosmith Not Allowed to Suck
Steven Tyler and his bum shoulder will be gyrating on stage with the rest of Aerosmith next month in Hawaii -- and according to a court order, he's required not to suck at it.
Aerosmith will be performing concerts on October 18 and 20 in the Aloha State after losing a class action lawsuit back in July -- which was filed after the band canceled a 2007 show in Maui.
According to a clause in the settlement agreement, the gigs have to be the same "quality, type and duration" as a regular kick-ass Aerosmith concert -- which includes all aspects of the show, down to the "stage, lighting and sound quality."
Normally this wouldn't be a problem -- but the band was forced to cancel the rest of their 2009 tour in August after Tyler fell off stage at a concert and broke his shoulder ... so he isn't exactly in tip top shape.
Brandee Faria, the lead council for the suit, tells us, "They know they can't come out and do a 30-minute gig ... because I'll be there watching."

Steven Tyler's Daughter -- My Dad's Not Dead!
Fear not Aerosmith fans, the 'Demon of Screamin' is alive and kickin' -- at least according to Steven Tyler's daugher.
Tyler's daughter Mia just gave TMZ one of the greatest statements we've ever received from anyone -- describing Steven's condition after that nasty fall he took on stage the other night:
"THE DEMON OF SCREAMIN IS NOT DEAD.
Yes it's true my dad walked the wrong way and landed on his head. He broke his left shoulder and had to get a few stitches on his noggin.
He is now at home resting and will be back on his feet just as soon as he can to rock the world once more."
...and that is how you write a frickin' statement!!!!
Steven Tyler -- Bleed On
Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler toppled like a rag doll Wednesday night in South Dakota -- fallin' down backwards off the stage and comin' up bloody.
Tyler injured his head, neck and shoulder from the spill -- and although he couldn't ruuuun away, ruuuun away from the pain ... he was able to make it to the hospital by helicopter.
UPDATE: Joe Perry's wife Twittered that Steven broke his shoulder and had to get stitches in his head and back.

Falling in love is so hard on the knees -- but falling on stage, that's hard for your head, shoulder and neck.
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was airlifted to the hospital last night after falling from a stage in South Dakota midway through a concert.
The whole thing went down after the soundsystem failed during "Love in an Elevator" ... and Tyler began to dance to keep the crowd entertained.
It's unclear how serious his injuries were, but Tyler was reportedly still livin' it up after going down -- joking with the physician in the helicopter.

Aerosmith -- Sell-Outs Still Have to Pay
It's nice to see a band own up to selling out... even if it takes two years and a class action lawsuit filed by your own fans before you do it.
Aerosmith has announced plans to play a free concert for 8,300 fans in Maui -- but this is no handout -- because these people were the ones burned after the band canceled a 2007 show (sorry, no refunds) in order to play for some high-paying corporate big wigs... aka the "man."
The angered fans had tried to sue the band for lost costs, but it looks like all will be forgiven if the concert, which will take place in the fall after Aerosmith's North American tour, actually happens this time.
You know, assuming some insurance company doesn't want the band to play at a corporate luncheon or something.

Lewis and Clarkson: Who Will and WON'T Perform Tonight
Kelly Clarkson may be feuding with her label head Clive Davis, but she's got nothing but love for "American Idol."
TMZ has learned that Kelly -- and all winners from seasons past, except Fantasia -- will be back performing on the "American Idol" stage for tonight's finale.
Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Hicks are headed to the Kodak Theater, but Fantasia Barrino won't be, since she is headlining Oprah Winfrey's production of "The Color Purple" on Broadway.
Sources tell TMZ Gladys Knight will perform "Midnight Train to Georgia" with the top six female finalists, while Smokey Robinson will join the top six male finalists for a rendition of "Ooh Baby Baby." Most recently booted finalist Melinda Doolittle will sing with brother and sister gospel duo BeBe and CeCe Winans, while the hairiffic Sanjaya duets with Aerosmith's Joe Perry to the Kinks' "You Really Got Me." It's sure to be an unbeweavable night!
Beat-boxing finalist Blake Lewis will show off his mad skillz against rapper Doug E. Fresh, and then duet with fellow finalist and probable winner, Jordin Sparks, to the Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There." Since producers were able to finally get clearance to use Beatles music, a medley of Fab Four hits will be performed as well.
Luckily, we're told no one is expected to be exhumed a la Elvis on tonight's finale!
UPDATE: A well-placed source tells TMZ that anti-establishment rockers Green Day sold out and will be on the "American Idiot" "Idol" finale too!

Tell Me 'Bout Those Baby Blue Eyes
Are Christina Aguilera's eyes really that blue?
Dr. Anne, while Christina Aguilera's eyes are indeed naturally blue, it's the contacts she wears that make them really stand out. (Paris Hilton, whose real color is brown, also uses them!) Nonetheless, Aguilera wears them well.
Christina and her baby blues will begin their first-ever European tour on November 17 at the Hallam FM Arena in England, but will be back on this side of the pond come February. For more info on Christina, click here.
How Many "Best of" Records Can Artists Put Out?
U2 and Aerosmith are two of my favorite bands. I've grown up listening to both and have some memorable concert experiences with both. So, I rarely say anything negative about either. But, with both of these bands coming out with yet another "Best of" compilation, I can't help to think how many times can you go to this well?
Aerosmith put out their first greatest hits record in 1980. Yes, I know some of you were quite young or not even born then. That was a good record. The band came back with another compilation called "Big Ones" in 1988, and to their credit didn't repeat tracks from the first collection. But, they've done it two more times since and have issued two box sets on top of that. If that's not enough, next month we'll see yet another one. This one is titled "Devil's Got a New Disguise: The Very Best Of Aerosmith." Since, this "The Very Best," not simply "The Best," we may have to cut them some slack. And, there will be two new songs on the release. The devil may have a new disguise, but Aerosmith (or their various labels) needs a new trick. This one's getting old.
The guys from U2 are also repeat offenders, granted, not as bad as Aerosmith. U2 did two tasteful "best ofs" in 1998 and 2002, with each set covering a different time period in band history. In 2004, they put out a "digital" box set called "The Complete U2" via iTunes, which although digital, was largely repetitive of the previous offerings. And, just like Aerosmith, they are are dipping back into this well again. The Irish lads will release "U218 Singles" just in time for Christmas. The good news is that it will reportedly contain two new tracks, including their collaboration with Green Day titled, "The Saints Are Coming." The bad news is that if you're a die hard U2 fan you may have to buy songs you already have in order to get the new stuff.
Of course, these bands have had long illustrious careers, so maybe two "best of" sets would be palatable. But, multiple is pushing it. Somehow, I suspect we'll see at least one more from each before all is said and done. I have no doubt these are more "label creations" than that of the bands. Over all, I'm a fan of the "Best Of" compilation concept. It allows you to basically get a pre-made mix tape on your favorite artist. Particularly, if it is done at the end of an artists' career as a retrospective. Of course, the real fun of mix tapes are making them yourself. So, maybe the best thing to do is skip all these pre-mades and hit up your favorite digital store and make your own mix. Maybe that would get record execs to layoff the overkill. Probably not, but at least you'll have control over what songs you're buying.
