Norbert, best known as the viral high-fiving therapy dog, has died ... this according to his owner, Julie Steines.

Julie shared the somber update on Instagram Monday, informing fans "with a heavy heart" that the beloved pup -- full name Saint Norbert Liv Freyermuth Steines -- passed away in her arms Sunday night.

Per Julie, she and her family are heartbroken following Norbert's death ... which came 2 months shy of his 16th birthday.

According to legal docs, Deondre Burgin has been cooling his heels behind bars at the Hamilton County Jail in Ohio since November and, as a result, Burgin was a no-show for the birth of his kid with Skai -- famous for her roles on Disney Channel sitcoms like "Jessie" and "Bunk'd."

Back in November, Burgin was given a 90-day sentence after he violated his parole from an earlier theft and weapon possession case as a juvenile, according to Hamilton County court records.

Former MTV host Matt Pinfield needs help making decisions on his health and finances after suffering a massive stroke ... at least according to his daughter, who claims she's afraid his girlfriend will drain his bank account.

Matt's daughter, Jessica, beelined it to court and filed for a temporary conservatorship over her father. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, she claims Matt had a stroke three weeks ago and is now incompetent to make health and financial decisions.

In the docs, Jessica says she's concerned about Matt's money and personal property because his girlfriend has access to his accounts ... she and her sister Maya say they are deeply concerned the girlfriend will withdraw Matt's money.
