Explosive footage out of Brazil shows the terrifying moment a burning, out-of-control bus crashes into an electrical pole ... sparking a fiery blast, and sending people running for cover.

The scary situation unfolded Monday on the streets of Sao Paulo, and the video picks up with the bus already engulfed in flames, and rolling down the street.

The public transit bus crashes into a light pole outside a business on a busy street ... and then there's a big explosion ... with flames shooting out of the bus' roof and windows, and smoke billowing into the air.

1:39 PM PT -- Palm Beach Gardens Police chief Dominick Pape just told reporters the incident looks like it was "a random act of violence."

"It does not appear that Boucher had any legitimate purpose for being at the golf course," Pape said.

The law enforcement official added that Boucher -- who has a lengthy history of arrests -- was also reported missing by his family less than one hour before the golf course confrontation occurred.

Jim Abrahams -- one of the creators behind classic comedies like "Airplane!" and 'The Naked Gun' -- has died.

The writer, producer and director died early Tuesday morning at his home in Santa Monica ... according to his son, Joseph.

We're told Jim had been battling leukemia for 20 years, and the cancer was a contributing factor in his death. His son says Jim was in remission at one point during his cancer battle, but the disease came back and he was always battling the cancer.

8:55 AM PT -- Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports ... 29-year-old Sean Daley was booked for felony assault in connection with the Sunday night fight.

Former Arizona Coyotes player Paul Bissonnette was assaulted at a Scottsdale-area bar Saturday night ... after BizNasty stepped in and stopped a group of drunk golfers who were causing issues!

The NHL vet and current TNT hockey analyst and podcaster went to social media after FOX 10 Phoenix broke the story ... where he explained what led to the melee.

"There was a bit of a ruckus going on in the bar," Bissonette said. "It was a bunch of drunk golfers. Things obviously continue to escalate. They ask one guy to leave, and one guy kept getting in the manager's face and put his hands on him."
