Elon Musk needs a close encounter before he's ready to say aliens have visited Earth ... arguing UFOs are probably classified government technology, not evidence of extraterrestrial life.

The controversial tech billionaire sat down for an interview with Tucker Carlson, posted to X, this week ... and, the two got right down to all the UFOs people have filmed recently -- and, while Elon says he knows the unidentified flying objects are real, he's still yet to see an alien body.

EM says SpaceX alone has around 6,000 satellites out in space ... and, he says they've never had to move out of Marvin the Martian's way. Basically, if aliens exist ... where are they?

The smashed-up Taylor Swift guitar has found a new home ... because someone bought the controversial item on eBay.

According to the e-commerce site, someone scooped up the guitar -- which was featured in a viral video at the end of September -- on Tuesday evening for a whopping $6,550 ... even amid doubts about the guitar's authenticity.

As TMZ previously reported ... Gary Estes, a Texas resident, spent $4,000 at a charity auction on a guitar advertised as bearing a Taylor Swift signature on it. Upon receiving the guitar at the auction, Gary was also handed a hammer ... and proceeded to smash it up.

Tragedy on a Turkish Airlines flight forced the plane to make an emergency landing when the pilot died in the air early Wednesday.

The Airbus A350-900 was en route from Seattle to Istanbul when 59-year-old pilot Ilcehin Pehlivan collapsed, according to airline spokesman Yahya Üstün, who shared the news on X.

The spokesperson said despite the flight crew's efforts to administer first aid, the pilot died mid-flight. The other pilot and copilot then performed an emergency landing.

Ethel Kennedy, the widow of Robert F. Kennedy Sr., is in a hospital recovering from a stroke ... the famous family announced.

Ethel suffered the stroke in her sleep last Thursday and was taken to a hospital, where she's getting care and is surrounded by family ... according to a statement Tuesday from Joe Kennedy III.

The Kennedys say Ethel is "comfortable" ... but they are asking for thoughts and prayers.
