Jets fans are going to love this ... Brett Favre tells TMZ Sports that as long as Aaron Rodgers stays healthy this season -- New York will compete for an AFC Championship.

Favre raved about his former teammate in the leadup to New York's opening-season game against the San Francisco 49ers ... explaining to us he truly believes the future Hall of Famer is still "arguably the greatest playmaker in the game right now."

Favre said that no matter what breaks down around Aaron, he can fix it -- which is something New York teams have historically struggled with throughout the years.

Before this Los Angeles native in her summer tank top turned into an actress and model, she was just posing and cheesing for the camera, growing up in the '80s and began her acting career at just 4 years old ...

Her claim to fame came in the late '90s from her role in "Eve's Bayou" alongside Samuel Jackson and Jurnee Smollett and just a few years later she landed on Nickelodeon where she played Bobby's bestie on "Cousin Seeker."

There was plenty of action on the field during the Chargers vs. Raiders game Sunday -- but there was even more of it off the gridiron ... with fans from both teams getting in violent brawls throughout the afternoon.

Tyreek Hill's not ready to talk about his detainment yet ... telling a reporter after the Dolphins dramatic win Sunday he won't get into specifics -- but, he's grateful for all the support.

10:14 AM PT -- Director Daniels tells TMZ ... she's reviewing details surrounding the incident and body cam footage from the scene. Further updates will be provided when they become available.

Tyreek Hill -- the best player on the Dolphins -- was put on the ground and placed in handcuffs just hours before Miami's kickoff Sunday ... although it appears he'll still play in the game.

Video circulating on social media shows several law enforcement officers confronting the 30-year-old just feet away from Hard Rock Stadium -- where the Fins will take on the Jaguars at 10 AM PT.

The mother of alleged Georgia school shooter Colt Gray made a frantic phone call just before he opened fire, telling school officials she got a call from her son and she feared the worst.

Marcee Gray got a text from her son, which read, "I'm sorry, mom," according to Colt's grandfather, Charles Polhamus, who spoke with the New York Post.

Marcee was with Charles when she got the text, and she frantically called Apalachee High School and told a counselor this was an "extreme emergency."
