Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright were back on the set Friday of Bravo's "The Valley" just days after she filed for divorce ... and you could cut the tension with a knife!

As TMZ previously reported ... Jax was served the docs from his estranged wife, BC, while filming the new season of the reality show Tuesday -- awkward!

And, we just so happened to get a great view of production back underway Friday ... and from the looks of what we saw, the couple was keeping their distance ... both in very different moods.

Sean Higgins -- the man accused of killing NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his little brother, Matthew -- made his first appearance in a New Jersey courtroom on Friday ... and he looked upset to hear he'll be spending his upcoming long holiday weekend in jail.

The 43-year-old appeared virtually before a judge ... after he was hit with two charges of death by auto following allegations he drunkenly slammed his Jeep Grand Cherokee into the backs of the Gaudreaus on Thursday night while they were biking on a small roadway in Oldmans Township.

Wearing an anti-suicide smock -- Higgins initially didn't speak much at the hearing ... although when he was informed he would remain behind bars until at least next Thursday -- he seemed dejected.

"Serial" subject Adnan Syed's legal battle drags on ... 'cause the Maryland State Supreme Court affirmed a lower appellate court's ruling reinstating Syed's murder conviction.

The highest court in Maryland upheld the ruling that determined Syed's case should be kicked down to the trial court to once again consider whether his conviction should stand ... essentially undoing the 2022 court ruling that overturned the conviction and set AS free.

The new hearing has not yet been scheduled ... but when it does happen, the family of his alleged victim, Hae Min Lee, will almost certainly be present in court.

2:35 PM PT -- U.S. Magistrate Judge Jean Rosenbluth ordered Dr. Mark Chavez released on $50,000 bond Friday. Chavez agreed at a separate administrative hearing earlier this week -- not in federal court -- to surrender his California medical license.

One of the doctors charged in connection with Matthew Perry's ketamine death appeared in front of a judge for the first time Friday.

Dr. Mark Chavez, one of two physicians busted in the Perry case, was arraigned Friday afternoon in a federal courthouse in downtown Los Angeles.

He appeared with his lawyer, and Judge Jean Rosenbluth told Chavez he could remain free on bond with restrictions, according to the Associated Press. Chavez agreed to surrender his passport, and not to work as a doctor.

Artem Chigvintsev's domestic violence arrest didn't come out of left field, at least according to people who say they know him and Nikki Bella ... they tell us the relationship has always been "volatile."

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Artem and Nikki's close friends, including their former 'DWTS' cast and crew members, are not entirely shocked by Artem's claims Nikki threw shoes at him during a heated exchange.

We're told Artem and Nikki's marriage has been troubled for some time, and it wasn't exactly a secret to anyone in their orbit.

Sid Wilson's getting right back on the horse ... saying he ain't missing Slipknot's show this Sunday -- even though he's still reeling from a bonfire gone very wrong.

The Slipknot DJ stopped by "TMZ Live" Friday to discuss his recent up close and personal encounter with a fire that heavily burned his arms and face in Iowa ... telling us he didn't take as many safety measures as he should have.

Wilson says he knew to keep the gas can away from the fire, to park his vehicle far away from the flames and a host of other fire safety tricks ... but, he got too impatient and didn't put enough distance between himself and the fire.

The tragic deaths of the Gaudreau brothers keeps getting more and more heartbreaking ... Matthew's wife is apparently expecting to deliver the couple's first baby in just a few months.

According to an online registry, Madeline Gaudreau is currently pregnant ... and has been given a due date of Dec. 31, 2024.

In the registry, the couple had been asking family and friends for all kinds of newborn items -- from clothes to dishware -- to help prepare them for their first foray into parenthood.

Judge Greg Mathis is going through it ... hot on the heels of his wife Linda rushing to court to pull the plug on their 39-year marriage.

The TV judge opened up to TMZ at LAX Friday ... making it loud and clear that divorce isn’t what he wants -- adding he's doing everything he can to turn things around and win Linda back while they’re still under the same roof, hoping she’ll have a change of heart.

He admits not making Linda his top priority during his career led to their downfall ... and gives some sound advice to other men on how to avoid the same fate -- which you can check out in the vid.

The radio dispatch from the Artem Chigvintsev domestic violence case reveals ... he did indeed call 911 to request medical assistance, but then added his wife, Nikki Bella, had thrown shoes at him.

TMZ has obtained the dispatch call, in which the dispatcher says, "Initially came in as requesting medical, but now he is stating he got into an argument with his wife and his wife threw shoes at rp [reporting party]."

The dispatcher notes, "There is a child on scene. Medical en route," adding, "There's an active 415 [disturbing the peace] in the background responsible."

Travis Scott won't have any worries next time he decides to party in Miami Beach ... his trespassing charge -- the last remnant of his wild arrest back in June -- has been dropped!!!

A source close to the prosecutor's office tells us the charge has been dropped ... Travis and his legal counsel previously argued there were no clear "no trespassing" signs to determine he was out of bounds, and looks like that was enough to convince prosecutors to drop the case.

Scott's attorney Bradford Cohen tells TMZ Hip Hop … “After arguing the motion to dismiss and the state realizing that there was no path to maintaining the charge, they decided to drop the case in its entirety.  Although not a serious charge, and one that should not have been filed, we are pleased with the result.”

Selena Gomez’s engagement rumors with Benny Blanco are really cranking up ... with recent photos totally stoking the flames.

A man in a Ford Bronco terrorized golfers on a Delaware course Thursday -- running into at least one cart while driving through holes at a high rate of speed ... and the wild scene was all captured on video.

According to authorities, the incident took place at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark at around 2:20 PM.

Law enforcement says after hitting a golf cart and ejecting the occupant from the ride, the driver of the Bronco sped off and fled the scene.
