John Legend's performance of a Prince classic at the Democratic National Convention didn't exactly have everyone going crazy, as some fans think it was an "insult" to have him play the song.

TMZ broke the story that John would be taking the stage at the United Center in Chicago Wednesday night -- but what we didn't know is he'd be singing "Let's Go Crazy" alongside longtime Prince collaborator Sheila E.

Truth is John sounded like ... well, John Legend -- who's an EGOT-winning success. Still, the soul singer doesn't sound like Prince, so some folks think he was the wrong choice to play the upbeat anthem ... right before Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz took the stage to accept the nomination for Vice President.

Francis Ford Coppola’s trailer for his new movie "Megalopolis" just got yanked by Lionsgate ... the company is now owning up to their screw-up with a public apology, after it turned out the trailer included a bunch of fake critic quotes.

The trailer dropped Wednesday ... kicking off with quotes from big-name critics like Pauline Kael and Roger Ebert commenting on Francis' past films.

But things quickly went sideways -- Kael’s quote said “The Godfather” was "diminished by its artsiness" -- a total head-scratcher since she made it clear she actually loved the movie in her OG review.

7:25 AM PT -- The woman who went viral online when the camera's panned to her during Oprah Winfrey's speech has spoken out on X writing, "Damn right this childless cat lady is 100% disgusted by J.D. Vance in general and 100% behind @KamalaHarris and @GovTimWalz! Also I may be childless but I do hope that's not a permanent condition, thanks!"

Oprah Winfrey took a swipe at J.D. Vance during her speech at the Democratic National Convention, slamming the Republican VP candidate for his infamous "childless cat ladies" comment.

The legendary talk show host hit the stage at the DNC in Chicago, covering a range of issues, but it was her dig at J.D. that really won the crowd over Wednesday night.

Gov. Tim Walz's big moment at the DNC brought the crowd to its feet, especially his 17-year-old son ... whose emotional reaction to his dad's speech became a real tearjerker moment.

Gus Walz sat front and center Wednesday night in Chicago, and he just couldn't hold back his emotions in the moment -- breaking into tears and screaming "That's my dad!" during the speech.

Travis Scott's looking to put his June arrest behind him ... asking a judge to throw out his trespassing case because he says the marina lacked "No Trespassing" signs.

The rapper's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, filed a motion to dismiss Tuesday claiming Scott can't be found guilty of trespassing after a rowdy night with yacht staff in Miami a couple months ago.

Basically, Scott's legal team says signs warning against trespassing weren't visible at the marina itself. He says there were signs on the surrounding private property, but he says those don't count for his presence at the marina.
