Brad Pitt has been "extremely concerned" for his estranged son Pax after the bike accident that nearly killed the 20-year-old, and he's been getting a steady flow of information about his recovery ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to Brad tell TMZ ... he was shocked and emotional after learning about the accident. TMZ broke the story ... Pax was riding his e-bike without a helmet along an L.A. street on July 29, when he plowed into the back of a car idling at a red light.

Pax was unconscious ... it was so bad eyewitnesses thought he had died. Pax suffered a serious head injury with brain bleed, as well as a hip injury. Paramedics rushed Pax to an ICU unit, and he stayed in the ICU for a week before being released. He's now on the mend.

Miranda Kerr has bid adieu to her stunning Malibu bachelorette pad -- you know, the one she snapped up right after her split from Orlando Bloom a decade ago.

Body cam footage of a Volusia County deputy in Florida rescuing a missing 5-year-old is leaving people thoroughly moved ... as the officer dove straight into a pond to save the child.

Watch the video ... the deputy, Wes Brough, is seen running through the woods while looking for a young boy with autism, who had wandered away from home. After searching high and low for the youngster, Deputy Brough eventually hears the kiddo shout out for help ... and realizes the boy is hanging onto a log in the middle of a pond.

The deputy wastes no time, as he throws off his belt and jumps right into water. Thankfully, his fellow officer's camera picks up where his body cam leaves off ... as it shows the deputy scooping up the child and safely bringing him to the shore.

Air travel keeps getting scarier ... more than a dozen people were injured as a result of severe turbulence on a Korean Air flight ... and adding insult to injury, the cabin became a pig-sty.

"I'd firstly like to apologize for what has occurred over the past 24 hours," Craig said on Wednesday. "I made a terrible mistake and I take full responsibility for my actions."

"My actions are my own and in no way reflect the values of my family, my teammates, my friends, my sport and the Australian Olympic Committee. I've embarrassed you all and I'm truly sorry."

Australian field hockey player Tom Craig has found himself in some trouble while out in Paris ... he's currently behind bars -- after authorities say he bought cocaine following his participation in the Olympics.

According to the Herald Sun ... Craig was arrested on Tuesday -- two days after Team Australia's elimination from the Games.
