Forbes pulled an article suggesting Black voters might relate to Donald Trump and feel more likely to vote for him after the assassination attempt ... probably for good reason.

The piece was titled "Will Surviving Gunfire Be Donald Trump's Next Appeal To Black Voters?" -- and it was written by USC professor and DEI expert Shaun Harper ... who himself is Black, and was more so posing this premise as a hypothetical rather than a statement of fact.

Still ... his argument that Trump may try to use this moment -- which he hasn't yet -- as a way to appeal to Black voters was met with a lot of pushback ... with many calling it racist.

Shannen Doherty was in the middle of an ugly divorce with her husband before she died -- but it looks like it was a chapter they were able to close together, on the same page.

New legal docs, obtained by TMZ, show that the late actress and her estranged spouse, Kurt Iswarienko, reached an agreement on a number of issues in their divorce case ... which was very much so active before Shannen passed away this weekend.

In the paperwork, it notes both parties had come to terms on property and other issues ... and that the case would not proceed as uncontested. As part of their settlement, they also served docs with final disclosures that usually cover finances and such.

Doug told "CBS Mornings" he thought the defining shot of the whole thing was Trump defiantly raising his fist as he was escorted offstage. But when he looked back at his photos, he realized he had a golden nugget -- a pic of the bullet that probably left Trump bloodied.

Jason Aldean sent Donald Trump a shout-out this weekend on the heels of the assassination attempt -- paying tribute with a song ... take a guess on which one.

The country singer was performing in Nashville Saturday -- hours after Thomas Matthew Crooks fired upon the ex-Prez -- and he addressed it to the crowd ... saying he was aware of what happened near Pittsburgh, with the audience roaring in response.

Jason didn't say much else afterward other than to note that DT was a friend of his -- and that the next song was dedicated to him ... and yes, he played "Try That in a Small Town."

7:02 PM PT -- Fanmio CEO Solomon Engel is firing back at Diaz ... calling his lawsuit "frivolous" and claiming the fighter has already received a seven-figure check for the event in the process.

"I look forward to resolving this dispute through the appropriate process and am confident that justice will prevail," Engel said in a statement obtained by TMZ Sports.

"Making salacious and defamatory statements to the media in order to harm my family and I has only strengthened my resolve to ensure that the truth will triumph."

Nate Diaz says he was promised $10 million for his fight with Jorge Masvidal ... but he claims he never got 90% of the cash -- and now, he's suing to get money he says he rightly deserves!

The former UFC star's attorney, Jeremiah Reynolds, filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Miami on Monday ... less than two weeks after he and Masvidal squared off in a boxing match at the Honda Center in Anaheim.

Diaz claims in the suit, obtained by TMZ Sports, that before he ever stepped in the ring with Game Bred ... he made a deal with promoter Solomon Engel and his company, Fanmio, in which he agreed to take the bout in exchange for a $9 million payday.

Donald Trump dodged another bullet Monday, when a judge dismissed his criminal classified documents case, ruling the appointment of Special Counsel Jack Smith was a violation of the Constitution.

Judge Aileen Cannon determined any special prosecutor must be appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. In this case, the Special Council was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, and that's not kosher under the Constitution.

Biden had tried to avoid making the appointment to avoid the appearance of political retribution, but now it seems that backfired.

Would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks was rejected from a high school rifle club, in part because he was a bad shot.

The 20-year-old, who was taken down by snipers Saturday after wounding former President Trump, killing one person in the crowd and injuring 2 others ... tried to get in the rifle club, according to Frederick Mach, who currently heads the team and spoke with the NY Post.

Another member of the team when Crooks tried out, Jameson Myers, told the Post something was off with him ... something that just didn't sit right. He reportedly had odd interactions with the students and coaches.

Kimberly Cheatle -- the director of the Secret Service -- put out a statement Monday that somewhat addressed all the scrutiny that's been directed at the federal agency after Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to get up onto a roof outside the PA rally and fire off shots at DT.

She says, "The Secret Service is working with all involved Federal, state and local agencies to understand what happened, how it happened, and how we can prevent an incident like this from ever taking place again. We understand the importance of the independent review announced by President Biden yesterday and will participate fully."
