Donald Trump has resurfaced after being shot in the ear in an assassination attempt.

The former president was seen walking down the steps of his jet ... with Secret Service close by his side.

He landed at Newark Liberty International Airport around midnight.

12:18 PM PT -- The Jones family just released a statement to the NFLPA that Jacoby died "peacefully" at his New Orleans, Louisiana home.

"The family, including his mother, Emily and his son, Little Jacoby, are together and are asking for your prayers, privacy, and support as they navigate through this difficult time."

Former NFL star receiver Jacoby Jones -- who won Super Bowl XLVII with the Baltimore Ravens -- has passed away. He was only 40.

Ex-NFL quarterback Matt Leinart, and Jones' former teammate, confirmed the devastating news on Sunday, saying he's heartbroken over Jacoby's death.

"His laugh and just bigger-than-life personality will be something I'll always remember," Leinart said, "RIP brother."

The Federal Bureau of Investigation raided what appeared to be the home of the gunman who tried to assassinate Donald Trump at his Pennsylvania campaign rally Saturday.

According to CBS News ... FBI agents and local law enforcement descended on the Bethel Park residence of now-deceased 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks late last evening. Public records show that a man by the same name and age lived at that location.

During the raid, federal agents closed down streets in the area and neighbors were evacuated from their houses.

The shooter who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump at his Pennsylvania rally Saturday has been identified by authorities.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation named 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the gunman who opened fire at Trump from a rooftop near the prospective Republican presidential nominee's campaign rally in Butler, PA.

FBI officials provided no other information about Crooks or his motive but said the investigation into him was ongoing.

Donald Trump has Secret Service snipers to thank for taking out the gunman who apparently tried to assassinate him -- because just a second after he fired ... they took him out from an opposite roof, all of which can now be seen in new video.

This clip -- which was posted by a TikTok user and is now going viral -- shows the shooting from a different angle ... and it's eye-opening on a number of fronts ... 'cause it shows what was going on in the moments leading up to shots ringing at the Butler rally.

As you can see, there are at least 2 Secret Service agents on what appears to be a barn rooftop and they have their weapons out and ready -- seemingly tracking a target from afar.

Donald Trump's just addressed the shooting at his Pennsylvania rally -- explaining where exactly he got hit by a bullet, while also thanking law enforcement for their quick response.

The ex-President of the United States has just released a statement to Truth Social just hours after the shooting that nearly took his life ... and, in it, he says he was shot in the upper part of his right ear.

Trump says, "I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening."

A man who claims to have seen the alleged gunman open fire on the Trump rally has quite a story -- including the lead-up ... not to mention apparently being ignored after trying to notify law enforcement.

The guy, who called himself Greg, got interviewed by the BBC Saturday in Butler, PA right after everything went south -- just outside the rally itself -- where he says he and his friends were partying, only to head up a hill outside the facility to watch Trump's remarks from afar.

That's when Greg says he and his pals saw a man shimmy up a nearby building -- which was also outside the main grounds of the rally -- with what he says was a rifle in hand.

Joe Biden's just broken his silence on the shooting at Donald Trump's rally moments ago ... condemning political violence but stopping short of calling this an assassination attempt.

President Biden just broke his silence following the shooting ... speaking to reporters and saying he's praying for his predecessor, Trump's family and everyone who attended Saturday's rally in Butler.

He slams political violence in his speech ... saying there's no place in our democracy for violence of this nature.

7/14 9:05 AM PT -- Donald Trump released a statement on Truth Social saying ... "I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured."

"It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

5:07 PM PT -- The Associated Press reports the shooting is officially being investigated as an assassination attempt on ex-President Trump. The would-be assassin has yet to be identified, but is confirmed to be dead.
