In any case -- his attorneys, Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin, tell us ... "The officers that made the arrest are incorrect. He is not a convicted felon and has never been a convicted felon. We would have hoped additional research would have been done prior to them filing these charges."

Tragic news from the University of Kentucky ... a member of its dance team, Kate Kaufling, has passed away after battling cancer. She was only 20.

The Wildcats athletic department released a statement this week ... saying the sophomore student-athlete died on Sunday, just months after finishing chemotherapy for osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer.

She was diagnosed in June 2023 ... after discovering lumps and swollen lymph nodes.

Chance the Rapper and his wife, Kirsten Corley, are calling it quits on their marriage -- something they just announced with a joint statement.

They write, "After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the same time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together."

Body cam footage from Oklahoma shows the moment an elderly man set himself and his home on fire -- this while law enforcement was trying to evict him.

Two cops showed up at 82-year-old Anthony Goulding's place Monday in OKC to serve him and his wife an eviction notice, but things took a devastating turn when Goulding ran to a back room with a container full of gasoline ... which he started pouring everywhere.

Despite the officers rushing to stop him, Goulding ignites himself with a lighter, engulfing the floor in flames almost instantly. He also hurls the gas canister at the deputy, putting her dangerously close to the flames ... but she manages to back away.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. has been officially hit with a criminal charge for allegedly driving drunk earlier this year ... Texas prosecutors just indicted him for felony DWI.

According to court records, Mahomes Sr. was slapped with the count -- driving while intoxicated third or more -- on Thursday.

If convicted, he'll face up to 10 years behind bars ... as well as a fine of up to $10,000.

An elderly woman was killed in Africa during a safari trip -- this after an elephant charged her party's vehicle ... and flipped it over, which left her fatally wounded.

The unidentified woman 80-year-old was on a safari Saturday in Zambia at the Kafue National Park -- and at one point in the excursion, a bull elephant charges their truck ... and rams into it head-on, all of which was captured in a dramatic video.

The elephant tips over the vehicle, and you can hear panicked screams from the tour guide as well as the patrons -- including what sounds like the woman who actually died.

The actor's recent motion to have the guilty verdict set aside was rejected Wednesday in New York -- and that's bad news for him ... because it indicates that a looming sentencing date that's coming up next week will, in fact, go forward.
