America runs on Dunkin' Donuts ... but customers of one particular store may want to run somewhere else to buy coffee -- because an employee was caught washing their feet in the sink.
Here's the deal ... a TikTok video went viral earlier this month after a horrified customer filmed a man washing his feet in the sink of the chain's Staten Island Ferry location.
Check out the clip ... this dude is rubbing his hands all over his feet -- just around the corner from where thirsty customers order their morning pick-me-up.
The New York City Department of Transportation tells TMZ it's investigating the video ... and the New York Post reports the city Health Department is also involved.
Adding another wrinkle to the situation ... some online think this may be wudu -- an Islamic practice where Muslims wash their hands, face, arms and feet as an act of purification before prayer.
The NYC Health Department states that food service workers can't wash their feet in any sink within the establishment ... each sink has a specific purpose -- and none of them are for washing feet.
We'll just have to wait and see if this employee gets off with a warning ... or if he really shot his career in the foot.
