CeeLo Green says he was nowhere in sight at the Grammys ... even though we all could have sworn that was him in the gold martian suit.

We got CeeLo Tuesday night leaving Delilah in WeHo, where he denied being the little gold man turning heads on the red carpet Sunday.

He is known to rock alter egos every now and then ... sounds like this could be his latest.
