Why Kanye West Backs Trump

Kanye West saw a little bit of himself in Donald Trump -- a guy who stirs things up and gets people talking -- and that's why he's confessed his admiration for the Prez-elect's campaign, NOT necessarily his policies.

Sources close to 'Ye tell us his Thursday night confession about Trump was mainly about his ability to start a movement via not so conventional or politically correct methods.

Our source says Kanye's a big-time believer in conflict bringing change, and thinks Trump's campaign will spark conversation on both sides. As for the Donald's controversial comments about Mexicans and Muslims ... we're told 'Ye's not down with any of that.

As for the reports he rapped, "I hope they build the wall, I hope they get rid of them all" during the San Jose concert ... we're told it never happened, purely an Internet rumor catching fire.
