Sources connected with the production tell us, Richard Curtis "blew everyone away" with his performance Friday. We're told he'll be back for another gig, as early as mid-November.
According to one source, the internal feedback on the Pennsylvania high school teacher was "universally positive," and staffers were stunned by his poise and self-confidence.
We're told the 30-year-old married father of 2 is "very much in the running" to get the coveted job. One source connected with the show tells us, "He was the best co-host since Michael [Strahan] left."
