Steph Curry knows a good product needs a good hype man ... so he tapped French Montana to pump up the crowd for the launch of his new kicks.

It went down at Pier 35 in San Francisco on Saturday night for Curry's new Under Armour sneakers ... he surprised the crowd by bringing out the rapper.

Curry even threw down some dance moves ... in case you thought he didn't have any.
