Morgan Freeman admits planting one on Michelle Obama ... but not in the way a lot of people would like to -- and definitely NOT the way some people have reported he did.

We got Morgan outside Madeo Monday night in WeHo, and asked about reports Prez Obama was pissed about his smooch with the First Lady at the Invictus Games in Orlando.
