Good news for rapper Mike Stud ... Jose Canseco DIDN'T bust a cap in his ass ... 'cause the two men hung out together in L.A. and there was ZERO gunplay (as far as we can tell).

Mike is dating Jose's super sexy daughter, Josie ... and the last time we got Canseco out he told us he hadn't met Mike yet, but planned to "answer the door with a gun" when Josie brought him over.
