Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth celebrated the New Year together in Australia ... leading to some obvious questions.

Miley and Liam arrived together for lunch. They broke bread with a group of people, including Liam's brother Chris.

The two split months ago and there was apparent bad blood, at least on Liam's part.

We don't know if they've just reached a peace accord or whether it's something more.
