Cops were everywhere during the 'Star Wars' premiere in Hollywood Monday, and it's just a glimpse into a massive security effort to keep L.A. safe from terrorists.

Law enforcement sources tell us they have tactical teams in place at various high-profile venues and events -- like the 'Force Awakens' event -- but also at malls around the city.

We know of one suspect who had cops and the FBI on high alert. They thought he might be targeting a mall, but it turns out he was an Uber driver who was picked up for questioning and cleared.
