Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez -- What Do You Mean ... We're Not Sitting Together At The AMAs?

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez could give the AMAs a ratings boost IF producers scramble to change the seating chart.

Sources on scene say the way the seating chart is configured now, Justin and Selena are not sitting side by side for Sunday night's award show.

We're told Bieber and Selena have requested to rub shoulders during the ceremony, which makes sense ... he serenaded her at a Beverly Hills bar over the weekend and then strolled with her later that night along empty Bev Hills streets.

As of this posting their place cards are sitting on chairs that are NOT side by side, but there's still time to rejigger things.
