Boycott Star Wars VII Trending on Twitter ... Claiming White Genocide

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is going way too far on the dark side -- according to the thousands upon thousands of people now accusing the upcoming film of promoting "white genocide."

We know this sounds bizarre, but there's actual Twitter unrest today with #BoycottStarWarsVII trending like crazy. The movement started shortly after a new poster for the flick was released Monday.

The poster features John Boyega -- as well as Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher ... but haters think the image is pushing black over white ... and not just the movie's main characters.

Seems like classic trolling to us, but at least it's made for some entertaining tweets and memes:
