Demi Lovato made the most of a bad situation ... after she slipped and fell during a promotional appearance, she decided to pop up and leap straight into the pool below her.

Lovato's dive came while promoting her new song, "Cool for the Summer," at a huge pool party Sunday at the WaterMarke Tower in Los Angeles.

She had a good sense of humor about the mishap, tweeting afterwards, "#NOTCoolForTheSummer #F**kIt"
