There's one huge Chicago guy who likes the idea -- Common -- who tells TMZ Sports it would be "dope" if the former NY Jets coach blew into the Windy City.

Sure, he was ran outta NY, but Common says Rex could be a perfect fit in Chicago ... where Bears chairman George McCaskey just ousted the previous head coach Marc Trestman.
