He's raged across the globe -- from Vegas to North Korea -- but Dennis Rodman still can't hang with the big boys when it comes to partying ... so says rock legend Tommy Lee.

The Motley Crue drummer was out in Calabasas this week when we asked if there was ever an athlete who could keep up with him when it came to getting wild ... but Lee was clear, the answer is no.

"They don't really party like we do," Lee said.
