Eagles linebacker Mychal Kendricks says he's "FLATTERED" that Rihanna has publicly stated she wants to wants to ride him like a rodeo bull ... but there's one problem -- she won't call him back.

RiRi first announced her crush on Kendricks on Twitter a few weeks ago when she posted a pic of Mychal along with the caption "Is it Monday? Cuz chhh...#MCM" -- meaning Man Crush Monday.

Now, the 23-year-old stud is finally responding to the shout out -- telling FOX 43 in Pennsylvania he's been trying to reach out to the singer to hook up ... but so far, he hasn't been able to connect.

FYI -- Rihanna's recently crushed on Tom Hardy and Vince Vaughn, too ... so Kendricks better hustle.
