Jameis Winston -- Florida State Attorney Willie Meggs Takes Pot Shot ... Heisman Winner Lacks Character

Jameis Winston got slammed today by the Florida State Attorney -- who says the Heisman winner wouldn't have gotten his vote for the award because he's no AJ McCarron.

Willie Meggs -- the man who cleared Winston of rape accusations -- went on Sports Talk Florida today ... and said he was pulling for the Alabama QB to win the Heisman because, "He was a person of great character."

Translation: Meggs let Winston walk, but he clearly thinks he's lacking as a person off the field.

Interesting that Meggs -- who knows all the details of what went down between Jameis and the accuser -- chose to take such a public shot at the Florida State star.
