Danny DeVito SURFACES -- 'Everything's Good'

For the first time since he separated from his wife, Danny DeVito appeared in public this weekend ... and told TMZ he's doing OK in the wake of the split.

A freshly bearded DeVito was lunching with some friends in Malibu -- sans his estranged wife Rhea Perlman -- and when we asked how things have been going since the announcement, he gave us a big thumbs up and told us, "Everything's good."
