Venezuelan authorities are on the hunt for the scumbags who broke into the Spanish singer's hotel room and cleaned it out ... while he was performing a concert this week.

According to officials in Venezuela, the bad guys got away with $1,600 in cash, 3 iPads -- and a suitcase containing video cameras, a computer and personal documents.

Officials say investigators are questioning staffers at Julio's hotel -- and hope surveillance camera footage will help identify whoever jacked Julio's stuff.
