Investigators in and around Beverly Hills are looking for similarities between Harold Smith -- the suspect in Ronni Chasen's murder -- and suspects in any open cases ... according to law enforcement sources.
Sources tell us police in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles are looking closely at the fact Smith was riding a bicycle when he allegedly fired the fatal shots.
We're told detectives are now actively sifting through unsolved cases with suspect descriptions -- including the bicycle -- similar to Smith's.
