Brit's "Blackout" Headed for Wipeout?
It might be Sir Ben Kingsley's morning mantra, but Britney Spears' "Gimme More" isn't exactly burning up the radio, and pre-sales of her new album, "Blackout," are more than a little bleak.
That's according to FOX News, which says that "Gimme More" is "dead" on the radio, citing trade paper Radio & Records, which also reports that the single is at the bottom of every chart. Meanwhile, Brit's big comeback album, due in just a week and a half, is withering at 76 on Amazon.com, which suggests weak advance interest. "Gimme More" is currently #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.
Winehouse Popped for Pot in Norway
Was Amy Winehouse really nabbed in Norway for marijuana possession? Yes, yes, yes.
The singer and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, and an unnamed third person were arrested late yesterday in Bergen, which is in southwestern Norway, after police were tipped off. "They were found with seven grams (about a quarter-ounce) of marijuana," said prosecutor Lars Morten Lothe. "She's paid the fine, so this thing is over for us now."
Winehouse was to perform in Oslo Saturday, and then move on to, er, the Netherlands. Her reps had no comment.
