Rockstar "Rejects" Break Out
Ok, so they won't be making out with Tommy Lee - which may be a good thing - but after getting the boot from "Rockstar: Supernova" Patrice Pike, Ryan Star, Dilana Robichaux and Storm Large are all working hard to extend their time in the spotlight. One reason for their ability to thrive in their post-Rockstar careers is that they all have been in the music game for quite awhile.
Patrice Pike has been a professional musician since age 16 and spent years honing her stagecraft in the indie rock mecca of Austin, Texas. Even before Rockstar, Pike had toured much of the country and even Europe as part of Texas jam-band Sister Seven. She recently released her debut full-length record "Unraveling" and is currently in the midst of a fall tour.
Ryan Star also has a long performing history. Well before auditioning for Tommy and crew he was a bit of a fixture in the NYC area club scene and his band Stage was signed to Madonna's Maverick Records. Now that Rockstar is over, he has resumed his pre-reality career and seemingly been everywhere lately. He was on popular drive time radio show Opie and Anthony last week and Maxim Magazine's radio show the week before. He too is on the road, most recently back home in NY, in support of his own record "Dark Horse."
Dilana Robichaux - who had a significant career in Europe before Rockstar - also didn't win the lead singer spot, but is getting plenty of help from her almost band mates. She's recorded a new version of her song "Supersoul", which is streaming on her MySpace page, with one time Guns 'N Roses and now Supernova guitarist Gilby Clarke. She will also tour with the band next year. Who knows, maybe she will get to make out with Tommy after all?!
Like Dilana, Storm Large - who become well known in the Portland, Oregon music scene with her band The Balls before her reality show days - is getting some help from the Rockstar cast. Only Storm's assist comes from host Dave Navarro. Dave appears on her recently released single "Ladylike." However, Storm and fellow cast member Magni were cut from the upcoming Supernova tour so no Tommy-tongue for her.
