Paris Hilton an Underdog?
In the upcoming July issue of Blender (hitting news stands June 20th), in addition to talking about her lovely "booty" and new record, Nelly Furtado dishes about meeting Paris Hilton for the first time.
Producer Scott Storch introduced her to Paris whom Nelly says was "sweet" with a "girl next door" vibe. Where the heck is she living? Paris-types certainly weren't the girls next door in my neighborhood.
Nelly also says she's looking forward to the hearing Paris' record:
"She's an underdog and I like underdogs. In high school I was friends with all the underdogs. I had my cool friends, too, but I liked to be friends with the people that nobody liked. When I met Paris, I told her, 'Good luck, and you're innocent till proven guilty in the music business.'"
Paris Hilton an underdog? Are you kidding me? This is a girl who can buy a top producer's services without even blinking an eye and is obviously not living in obscurity trying to "breakthrough." Real underdogs are the kids schlepping across the country and up and down the coasts playing the small clubs and all age shows building a following from the ground up. Those are artists we need to get behind and support, as Paris does just fine getting herself out to the masses.
