Page Six Editor Arrested
The hits just keep coming. In the wake of an alleged extortion scandal, the New York Post's Page Six now faces another legal mess. Police arrested the gossip column's editor Richard Johnson Thursday night for driving under the influence.
Manhattan Police pulled over the 52-year-old Johnson in his 2005 Ford Escape, alleging he was "intoxicated... had watery and bloodshot eyes, had slightly slurred speech and had the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath." The criminal complaint also says that Johnson "refused" to take a breath test.
Johnson has been charged with a misdemeanor. Manhattan DA spokesperson Edison Alban says Johnson will be back in court to enter a plea on July 31st. If convicted on all counts, Johnson could face up to a year in jail.
The arrest was first reported by Perez Hilton.
