Hollywood's Hotteset Rumors: Britney Spears' Sex Tape
THE RUMOR: Britney and K-Fed shot a sex tape.
Britney and K-Fed have a wild streak. But did they do the wild thing on video? It's actually the subject of a lawsuit.
WHERE IT STARTED: Us Weekly published an article last October claiming that Britney and Kevin showed their estate planning lawyer a sex tape that the couple had shot and told the attorney they feared it would become public.
HOW IT SPREAD: Britney was furious and called the article a lie, which of course sold more magazines. Spears' powerhouse lawyer, Marty Singer, filed a defamation lawsuit against Us Weekly, claiming "there is no such video" and that the article was "a despicable work of fiction..."
THE TMZ LOWDOWN: Britney and K-Fed have both signed declarations swearing that no sex tape exists. Indeed, Spears and Federline both say they never even met the lawyer to whom they supposedly showed the alleged tape.
On the other side, we know that Britney has hired the law firm in question before on a stalking case. And the source for the Us Weekly article has come forward to say that a lawyer for the firm told her sister about the alleged sex tape.
The lawyer has issued a sworn declaration flatly denying that she ever mentioned the existence of a sex tape.
Here's what TMZ thinks went down. During the time Britney was represented by the law firm, she was shooting her reality TV show, 'Chaotic,' with K-Fed. The two talked openly about having sex. Someone may have tried to connect the dots and thought there was a tape of them having sex -- and that's the way rumors start.
