Schwarzenegger Hospitalized With Rapid Heartbeat
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger checked himself into a Sacramento hospital around midnight last night (Dec. 6) after complaining of a rapid heartbeat. His Press Secretary Margita Thompson says the governor was released from UC Davis Medical Center after being observed for only a few hours. Hospital doctors claim his heart rate checked out normal.
Schwarzenegger's office claims he had the stomach flu on Tuesday and that he "consequently experienced a rapid heartbeat." Reps state that the governor's personal doctor recommended he get it checked because, "In 1997, Governor Schwarzenegger underwent surgery to repair a hereditary valve disfunction. Occasional rapid heartbeat is common following this type of surgery." He's reportedly feeling fine this morning and back in the office.
TMZ got in touch with a representative of a gym that Schwarzenegger frequents in Venice. The rep stated that since his surgery eight years ago, Arnold has never complained of any heart issues during his workouts.
