'Ghostbusters' Theme School Teachers Ain't Afraid to Rock ... Score Record Deal
The three elementary school teachers who reworked the "Ghostbusters" theme for the new movie are about to get some green dumped on them, but it's not slime.
No Small Children -- drummer Nicola Berlinsky, singer Joanie Pimentel and her sister/guitarist Lisa -- just scored a deal with RCA for their punk rock overhaul, which plays during the film credits.
It's an amazing story ... the 3 decided to start NSC 4 years ago during recess at their North Hollywood school. Last Halloween, they dressed up as Ghostbusters and played their version of the theme song during a club gig. They decided to record it and got it to the film's composer, Teddy Shapiro, whose kid happens to be a student at their 9 to 5.
NSC didn't think they had a shot after hearing big-name musicians were also up for the gig, but got the call ... GHOSTBUSTERS!
Check out the video ... the trio's going places, and hiring!!! But don't worry kids, they'll be back with a syllabus in the fall.
