We now have proof ... Odell Beckham Jr. has the skills to follow in the giant footsteps of Shaquille O'Neal ... 'cause the guy laid down an impressive freestyle rap in the middle of a party.

TMZ Sports obtained this video of Odell hanging with friends last summer, a few weeks before the NFL season kicked off -- and he looked right into a smartphone and started rapping over a Young Dolph track.
