John Mayer I'm Eating My Words Dismisses 'Fake Rolex' Lawsuit
John Mayer just got his clock cleaned in a lawsuit in which he claimed he was defrauded by a watch dealer ... because John has not only dismissed his suit ... he now says his claims were false.
TMZ has obtained a joint statement between Mayer and Robert Maron, who sold the singer more than $600,000 worth of Rolex watches back in 2007. Mayer -- a big-time watch collector -- claimed the watches had counterfeit parts and Maron knew it.
Now we've learned Mayer has dismissed his lawsuit and no money or property changed hands. What's more, their joint statement says, "Two years of research restored John Mayer's belief that Bob Maron is an expert on Rolex watches, and confirmed that Bob Maron never sold him a counterfeit watch."
Maron's lawyer, Eric George, said early on he'd beat Mayer in court, but the dismissal is pretty much the same as a jury victory for Maron.
BTW ... Maron is best buds with Charlie Sheen and even had a co-executive producer title on "Anger Management."
