'Orange Is the New Black' -- Vee Reports For Season 3 Duty

Sorry, Red ... Vee -- Litchfield Federal Prison's public enemy #1 -- will be back on the show for Season 3 ... despite being left for dead in last season's finale of "Orange Is the New Black" ... TMZ has learned.

The future of Vee was super murky -- not only was the character hit by a car ... but the actress who plays her, Lorraine Toussaint, is now on the ABC show "Forever."

But according to our sources, Toussaint will be reporting for filming Tuesday morning in New York. It's unclear if Vee will be alive and well ... or merely appearing in one of the show's flashbacks.

Bad news for the other inmates ... great news for us.
