If you wanna suck face with supermodel Cara Delevingne -- and your name isn't Michelle Rodriguez, Selena Gomez or Sienna Miller -- just whip out a giant painting of Cara and surprise her with it ... 'cause it worked for a random dude in NYC.

Andrew Gonzalez tells TMZ ...he showed up at the launch of Delevingne's DKNY collection Saturday with a homemade, framed Lion King-esque portrait of Cara. Of course, she freaked out when she saw it, beelined for him ... and then demanded he kiss her -- on the lips!

Later, Cara got Andrew out of the crowd, and gushed more while straddling him! He says they even discussed him doing another one for her ... involving bacon.
